Bearded Bella: Bukit Timah's Newest Pet-Friendly Brunch Hangout

Brunch goers will be familiar with the Bearded Bella name, having operated out of their Tanjong Pagar shophouse for a number of years now.

Now though, they’ve set up a second outlet at Bukit Timah, nestled within the enclave of F&B and retail stores at Greenwood Ave, amongst an upscale residential neighbourhood.

On the menu, you’ll find hearty Aussie-inspired brunch fare, such as the No BS Brekkie (S$24), Green Harissa Duck Burger (S$26), Barbecue Jackfruit & Cauliflower Rice (S$18), Almond Crusted Cajun Chook (S$24) etc.

I genuinely think Bearded Bella does pretty good food, though it definitely comes with a price tag, so I was not expecting any less from their Bukit Timah branch.

We opted for the Corned Beef Maple Toast (S$24), with house cured corned beef with smoked potatoes, caramelised onion, fresh herbs and arugula, served on a thick slice of cheddar French toast, topped with a poached egg and complete with a hearty dash of maple hollandaise.

With a balance of sweet and savoury, the sweeter palette was definitely necessary for this dish, as I thought the cured corned beef was rather salty. Overall, the flavours went well.

Then, we had the Crab Croissant (S$24), featuring a croissant served with a side of scrambled eggs, crab meat, grilled asparagus, and topped with a drizzle of chilli oil and pepper relish. Naturally, this dish had a spicy kick to it, but I actually quite enjoyed this.

Coffee was reliably good, and I had an Iced White (S$6.50).

It wasn’t hard to see why Bearded Bella’s newest outlet was packed with diners by lunchtime on a Sunday.

With good food, great coffee, and a cosy and inviting space, I genuinely wouldn’t mind returning again someday.
