Yes, another day, another new Jalan Besar cafe.
Just steps away from the ever popular Apartment Coffee is Glacier, a new minimalist white cafe specialising in pandan mochi waffles.

The all-white interior is clean and sleek, with bits of greenery here and there to break up the monotony of the stark whiteness.
Here, they don’t just do desserts.
You’ll also find a relatively lean brunch menu serving up mains such as the Seafood Vongole Pasta (S$23), Smoked Salmon & Avocado Toast (S$19), Salmon Mentaiko Truffle Grain Bowl (S$20), Basil Pesto Pasta (S$18), Glacier French Toast (S$16), and the Glacier Big Breakfast (S$24).
It may be a small menu for brunch, but I think they cover enough ground to make them a decent option for mains in this buzzing neighbourhood.

Moving on to their waffles, the Pandan Mochi Waffle (S$8) aims to hark back to traditional pandan waffles at your local neighbourhood bakeries, but with an added layer of mochi to make things a tad more exciting.
Choose from a myriad of gelato flavours to top off your waffle— we opted for the Oolong Osmanthus and Lychee Rose.
The dish is served with maple syrup and Gula Melaka sauce, and topped with coconut shavings.
To be honest, the gelato flavours kind of passed me by, perhaps because these lighter flavours were drowned out by the sweetness of the mochi in the waffle as well as the sauce.
It was an interesting texture biting into the waffle, with the crunchiness of the crust giving way to the chewiness of the mochi, which combined with the creamy gelato was quite a lot going on all at once.
I did find this a little cloyingly sweet though, so it’ll definitely please those with a sweet tooth!

You’ll also find coffees, teas, and other drinks so we had an Iced Mocha and Iced Matcha Latte to go with.
Overall, Glacier is a cool new addition to the slew of Jalan Besar cafes that have just opened up, and it’s worth checking out if you like sweet desserts or if you’re already in the area!
