Tai O feels like taking a step back in time to the Hong Kong of old. I went with a couple of travellers I met at a hostel I was staying in, and on a weekday, the streets of Tai O are incredibly quiet.

Famous for the river channel that runs through the main artery of town, life in Tai O is centred around the waters. Tai O was a wonderful break from the big city buzz of Hong Kong, and a serene yet beautiful village that I hope will be preserved for years to come.
