Flores was everything I dreamed of.

Idyllic islands that are truly the epitome of a tropical paradise, days where we just sailed around the archipelago, stopping by any deserted beach we wanted to for a spot of snorkelling and suntanning, it truly is paradise on earth.

I’m glad that it isn’t as explored as other destinations in Indonesia just yet, and the rugged hills rising above the waters made for fantastic photos.

I took this photo just when the sun was setting, from the view that our hostel had of the port just up ahead. The skies were a stunning shade of pastel pink, purple and orange, and this shot strangely reminds me of the amazing sights of Patagonia in South America, albeit a much less mountainous one but no less photogenic, hence the name ‘The Great Outdoors in Flores’.
